Why a Visit to Paris Will Certainly not Disappoint

travel in Paris

I like Paris, I really do. Time spent in Paris as a young student on holiday was extremely memorable.

From the usual sort of student things such as sitting on the steps of Sacre-Coeur nursing the obligatory monumental hangover from having been partying too hard the night before. Enjoying the quiet dignity and calm of the “Jeu de Paume.” Trying to get your head around the weirdness and wackiness of the likes of Dali, Magritte and Picasso after having savoured the serenity And peace of the likes of Monet and Camille Pissarro.

Paris certainly has a wide variety of life. Yes the French like others may have their economic and social problems but they somehow cope. It is possible to forget about the worries of 20th-century life in parts of Paris.

Paris has that unique quality to it that puts most things into perspective. Alongside the dignity and Splendour of the more established Paris you have the bustling vibrancy of the new.

Paris is the home of some of the most striking piece of modern architecture in the world alongside some of the worlds most beautiful established buildings. Nowhere else could you get away with such elegantly bullet marked buildings, a living heritage of war torn Europe alongside the more established buildings of the Ancien Regime.

Yet stop and ask the typical Parisian why this is and certainly with regards to the fading plasterwork and bookmarks and like the madrilenos asked about some of Madrid’s fading glory they are just as likely to shrug their shoulders and indicate that there are actually more important issues in the world.

I am not about to argue with them on this point when indeed they may well be right.

Returning to the subject in hand of why I like Paris.

While it’s quite simple because Paris actually caters for everyone and achieves this without giving the impression of trying that hard. For those amongst us with a love of the more “High Brow” there are some of the worlds finest museums and art galleries while the rest of us can while away the hours looking at some of the most beautiful architecture in the world or relaxing in some of the most beautiful urban parkland found anywhere

Things to see If You are to Visit Paris–Romantic and Fashion

travel in Paris

As we know, Paris is a romantic city and filled with art atmosphere. It is big and fulled of love. Paris is a good place and should be the first place for those romantic people and artist to choose from. While in Paris I made a list of things- not always buildings or churches to visit while you are there and here is my list.

There are so many things worthy to see when you travel to other cities or countries. Sometimes there are good things and sometimes bad. Sometimes the bad things come with better stories than the good things.

Here are a few:

The Louvre- I know this is typical but even going inside can take weeks to go through but I really liked the outside grounds. They were very peaceful. There are the glass pyramids, fountains, grassy areas and a park. It seemed to be the center of activity on a Sunday- children and adults playing in the fountains, and I will admit with the heat I was one. There are also people sun bathing anywhere there was grass. It reminded me of a college campus in the spring time.People laid out everywhere. It was very nice – oh and the art was pretty good too.

The famous tourist resorts are the Eiffel Tower, the Triumphal Arch, Avenue des Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, Notre Dame De Paris, Louvre Palace and so on.

The bridge over the Seine River was peaceful and clean. Take a walk or boat on it. It was nice especially at night! The colorful lights, the boats and people cheerful.

Notre Dame Cathedral- very nice on the outside but not what I would have thought. The gargoyles were interesting. I did not get a good feel for the inside – maybe it was because of the long lines to get inside and the extravagant wealth combined with the homeless, gypsies, and beggars all around.

The Latin Quarter was great if you are interested in the artists of the area.

If you never have, It’s time to book a hotel in Paris, Lets help you to decide what to do on those short few days which will always be memorable for you.

Since Paris is such a magical city, you can just wander around on its majestic streets, listening to your senses urging you to go into a pretty little cafe around a corner and have a slice of delicious tarte citron meringuée, or leaf through old pages with engraved illustrations in an antique book shop. Just sit down in a park under a hundred years old sycamore and enjoy the gentle warmth of the autumn sun and the yellow leaves swirling around in the wind.

But if you want to visit all those sight’s of Paris you’ve always heard about, you need a plan, a map and an underground pass. The metro is a very cheap and convenient way to travel in Paris: it gets you anywhere in no time. With its aid you can get from your hotel to the Eiffel Tower (you know, for pictures), but if you’re only there for a weekend, don’t waste two hours waiting in line to get on the elevator.

For a breathtaking view on the city, visit the Montmartre at dusk, with the beautiful white Sacré-Cœur on top of it, colourful markets where local artists exhibit their paintings, and street musicians making this moment unforgettable.

A little cultural journey is very doable in Paris, but if you decide to visit a museum, it doesn’t have to be the Louvre, and not even a picture gallery. There is a much wider variety of museums to choose from, for everyone’s liking: the Musée de la Curiosité et la Magie, Musée de la Marine, Musée de la Mode et du Textile, Musée de la Publicité, Musée de l’Armée, Musée des Arts Décoratifs and even a Musée de l’Erotism, just to name a few.

And when you’re in Paris, you have to visit a street market, where you will find the most surprising little gifts with their own story to tell. Also, try out some freshly baked croissant with the local type of cheese, and be sure to have (what is certain to be) a delicious dinner at a little French restaurant, with dessert and wine and candle-light.
