Iran is a semi-arid country and could be extremely hot at certain geographical points in Summer time. While traveling in Iran, specially if it is in the hot season, you should be aware of how you’re taking the trip. Otherwise, you may jeopardize your health and this Is not what you want.

To make sure you can be happily traveling in Iran and enjoy every moment of it in good health, keep the following Iran travel tips in mind:

1) Drink Plenty of Water

In a dry country like Iran, your body can lose lots of water, which needs to be replaces. The best drink you may have is water. Make certain you have sufficient reservoir of bottled water while traveling in Iran. Sometimes, distances are quite long and you have to wait for a long time before you get to the next source of water or shop to buy it.

This is particularly true when your kids are with you on such a trip in Iran. They are different from adults and should be taken care of with more forethought.

2) Put Sun Cream on Your Skin

The sunshine could have different effects on your skin depending on the country you are coming from and your skin color. Either you are exposed to the Sun at home or you are not from a sunny country, it is always better to protect your skin by applying Sun cream to it several times a day.

3) Protect Your Skin by Long-Sleeve Clothes

Many people tend to feel inclined toward wearing short-sleeve shirts or even shorts to feel cooler in a hot country. The fact is you can learn the best way of surviving in a country from its local people.

Looking at the local costume of people in Iran, you will see that they are entirely dressed no matter they are living in high mountains of the North or low plains of the South. In all cases, when you put on long-sleeve shirts and cover your legs, you better protect your skin from sunburn.

4) Wear Proper Footwear

Heat, dust, mud, bugs, etc are not any easy things to put up with. Summer time in a dry part of the world would mean hot climate and lots of dust. A bit of water on such dirt and dust could make mud. In particular places like farms, bugs, flies and mosquitoes could add to the problem.

Of course, I don’t mean Iran is such an extremely hot and unclean place. On the contrary, it is quite clean to many visitors’ surprise. Yet, it’s always better to be on the safe side and wear proper footwear. So, it is better to follow certain travel advices suggested by insiders or experts.

5) Put on Proper Headwear

You may visit Iran’s historic monuments that are mainly located outdoor. In such circumstances, you would have to spend some time exposed to the sun, heat, etc. A proper hat of any type, which is cool and helps your head breathe, is the ideal headwear that can protect your head. You will be less likely to be heat-stricken if you reduce the heat effect on your body and head.

6) Take Siesta Like Locals

Travelers from several parts of the world, particularly the lower temperature areas, find it weird to go home and take a nap in the middle of the day and after lunch. It may seem somewhat lazy to do so for them, but there must be a reason to take it easy in the middle of the day. This is how you can regain the energy you lose abundantly in the heat. Automatically after the mid-day nap, you feel refreshed and revitalized. So, when you are traveling in Iran in a hot season and see that people take siesta, make sure you do the same.

Finally, every person knows better what suits him/her best under different climates. The travel tips mentioned above are results of experience traveling around Iran all year round. They are important facts to follow by everyone. You know what other steps could boost your health and strength. Go for them.

11 Bali Travel Tips for a Bali holiday:

1.Seasonal and weather change actually makes little difference so any period of the year is a perfect time to visit Bali, although it’s useful to check out the public holidays in Indonesia. On the month of Ramadan – Muslim fasting period, Bali gets busy and crowded as locals from neigbouring cities, fill resorts up and prices for accomodations escalate.

2.Bali can be really cheap with superb value, especially for budget accommodation and budget flights. Do book in advance to get a great deal for your accomodation and flights. Air Asia is well-known to provide cheap flights to Bali if you book early in advance. Do search through all the online travel agents for the best hotel prices before you book your accomodation online. For example, you can compare the prices of Bali Hotels here – Cheapest Bali Hotel Rates & Reviews of Bali Hotels

3. If you’re planning to surf, do check out Bali Surfing Report. It has useful information on surf camps, cheap boat charters, and surfers package deals to remote beaches in Bali with great waves such as Nusa Lembongan.

4.Treat your tastebuds for something different and try eating in a warung (small traditional roadside eateries). Although they may look unhygiene, trust me, they are safe to eat. They are REALLY cheap, no-frills hangouts all serving unique and different foods. The food is often displayed in glass cabinets out in front. Grab a seat, make a selection and get the real flavour of Bali and Balinese food real cheap.

5.To understand Balinese culture and life, visit Murni’s in Ubud, which have everything regarding Bali and Balinese, from explanations of Balinese names to what one wears to a ceremony.

6.If you’re staying in luxury hotels, do consider staying in a Homestay where native Balinese families host you. It’ll really make your trip more enjoyable and eye-awakening.

7.A little knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia will definitely take you a long way. “Selamat pagi” – good morning -, “tolong” -help or please-, and terima kasih -thank you-, for starters. Also, try memorising, “way say” which means toilet, “mana” means where, and “gimana caranya” which refers to “how to”. For a fun introduction to the language, check out Bahasa Indonesia in 7 Days.

8.The best way to see Bali and travel around is with your own transport. Get a map or GPS and drive, hire a guide driver or rent a Bike.

9.Getting tired of hawkers bugging you to buy something? Do you know that there is an invisible line on the beach of Kuta that hawkers are not allowed to cross? Be a lil’ bit cheeky and park yourself closer to the sea. You won’t be hassled anymore.

10.Bargaining while shopping is a MUST. It is part of the whole shopping experience so don’t be shy and BARGAIN. Get into the swing of things and test your “Bargaining Art”. However don’t get too carried away until you’ve made a fool of yourself. If you do so, suddenly you’ll find out that you’ve spent the past 10 minutes quibbling over 50 cents. Use your instincts and logic.

11.To really ensure that you enjoy your holiday, do read “Bali Travel Guide For First-Timers” which is really useful and essential.

Do comment if you have any ideas to contribute or if you have any questions.. Happy Bali-ing!
