It’s a great experience when preparing for an expedition and one of the things I always look forward to is when preparing my SLR camera backpack for the trip. For every avid photographer, this activity actually does not have any set in stone rules as it’s more to each individual’s preference..although in the end, we still try to get the right mix of weight and what gears are really important. Have a look below on some ideas that I’d like to share which might prove to have some practicality for you as well.

Even though your digital cameras are already fitted with their own batteries the moment you purchased them, it’s always best to also have a few extra batteries in your SLR camera backpack. Why is this? Well, depending on how long and the number of images you’ll be snapping in let’s say a day, it’s quite generally known that your batteries won’t run out of power that soon. For me, the reason to have extra batteries are for those moments we are inclined to forget recharging them before using them for the next photo shoot.

Recharger – It would be quite nonsensical to have all the batteries in our SLR camera backpack but no recharger wouldn’t it?

If you’re going to be trekking overseas to another country, it’s best to do some probing beforehand on the types of power sources being used. Each country may use different levels of power source or even different nature of connections, which is why having a power adapter as part of your equipment in the SLR camera backpack equally valuable.

When traveling with your camera and SLR camera backpack in tow, do expect encountering a dirty camera. Because of this, the one item you must already have in hand are some cleaning gear, which can either be a simple lens cloth for cleaning off the outside of the camera and also a bulb blower.

Filters are an essential part of any photographer’s equipment and this also holds true when preparing your SLR camera backpack for traveling as they help extensively in your overall photo shoots.

Do you really require to have external flash units in your SLR camera backpack? There are several types ranging from small light slaves, hot shoe mount or even those professional models, one thing that needs to be considered is the additional weight that would be added because of them.

The subject is often asked, what size memory card should I carry in my SLR camera backpack? The answer varies considerably and depends on the megapixel count of your digital camera and how many photos you aim to take during the duration of your travel.

A tripod should be painless to set up, painless to use and have controls that are painless to adjust. It should be stable, strong and high enough so you can freely look through the viewfinder or scrutinize the LCD. If you travel a lot, contemplate a tripod which is manageable and folds to a packed size so that you’d be able to anchor it to your SLR camera backpack.

With these ideas in hand, I hope by now you already have some ideas on how to emphasize your camera gears when preparing your SLR camera backpack for any outdoor trips.

In order to get the most out of your backpack water filter, always
follow the instructions that come with it, and also keep in mind the
following tips.
Try testing your filter before you leave home to be sure that it’s in
good working order, especially if you haven’t used it in a long time.
Cleaning it before you go as well. Backpack filters, especially those
without pre-filters, can get clogged up with dirt and other particles.
If you’re going for a hike or on a camping trip that will last
several days, you might want to bring a couple extra filters just in
case.
Keep the water filter in a spot in your backpack where it’s easy to
find and pull out–not buried underneath other items–but also make
sure that it won’t fall out of your backpack too easily.
Using your backpack filter isn’t difficult.

Once you’re standing by
a river, lake or stream and you’re ready to take a drink, simply stick
the outtake hose onto what’s called the outtake nipple, and then stick
the intake hose onto the intake nipple. The intake hose should be
submerged in the water while you stick the outtake hose into the water
bottle itself. Meanwhile, the pre-filter should rest on a stone or
somehow be suspended in the water; it should not touch the bottom of
the body of water. Now you simply push the little lever up and down
and the water will move through the apparatus and the result with be
fresh, drinkable water for you to enjoy. Bon appetit!

Packing a backpack is not rocket science but it does require some attention to details if you want to avoid minor frustrations like having to stop and dig something out of the bottom of the pack.

While there are some variable to consider like climate, duration of your trip, type of backpack you own and a few others, there are some basic principals for packing a backpack that you can adapt to practically any situation.

First, pack for comfort. One factor that greatly affects your level of comfort while backpacking is the weight distribution of your gear. Basically, you want the heavier gear in the middle of your pack. Also, make sure the total weight of the backpack is evenly distributed on each side.

Second, pack for accessibility. Make sure that the items you need more often are easier to get to. A good plan is to pack in layers starting on the bottom with your sleeping bag, followed by your tent, then your bedroll, cooking gear, toiletries, first aid kit and, finally, food.

Your clothes can be packed according to the need to balance the weight of your gear. If the heavy equipment is too far down, add some clothes underneath it, otherwise, place your clothes on top.

Besides the top of your pack, use the side pockets for things you need to grab quickly. Some of these items might include your rain gear, snacks, water bottles, insect repellent, maps, gloves, etc.

Another accessibility issue deals with gear that goes together. Pack items that are used for similar purposes near one another in your backpack.

Finally, pack for prevention. Pay special attention to the following tips so that you an avoid ruining your gear. Keep plastic and loose fabric away from zippers. If caught, you run the risk of damaging your gear, breaking the zipper or both.
Keep anything that has liquid contents upright and, if possible, in a hermetically closed bag. Any hazardous materials or products that could stain your clothes or destroy your food should be packed in outer compartments.

There are two final tips that make packing a backpack an easier task. One, begin early. Give yourself plenty of time. You are more likely to forget important items or pack badly if you are under pressure to get it done quickly.

The second tip is to make a list of all the items you want to pack in your backpack. Once completed, prioritize the items. Include essential gear at the beginning of the list and stuff you would like to take but are necessary towards the end.

When you start the packing, begin with item number one. Go down the list until your backpack is either full or reaches a weight that you are comfortable with.
Now you’re ready to hit the trails.

Branding a backpack is an investment that a business takes on to increase awareness, and hopefully, sales. Branding is a complex subject that takes trial and error efforts, but knowing a few tips can help any campaign. White label backpack branding is quite affordable, making it cost effective in brand awareness.

When picking out a material, you should have a fair idea of what the bag should be used for. If you are creating a bag for security professionals, you would want a clear bag made of PVC. If you are appealing to the student market, you would want a backpack made of tight knit material that can withstand a lot of weight. Of course, having a little extra padding on the shoulders doesn’t hurt either.

Think of current fashion trends and apply them. A backpack that is a single color is dull, and the demand for them will be just as dull! Look into creating designs to meet specific target markets. An example would be to use grunge and popular culture to target the teenage crowd. Older university students might instead prefer basic colors and less flair.

Fashion your bag so that it can be used in multiple situations. Branded bags are ordered in bulk, so you must allow them to be bought or given away to those who will use them frequently. An example would be to include a pencil case holder on the side for students, which can also be used as a napkin holder for mothers. Inside pockets can be great for cosmetics for the female population, while the same inside pocket is great for boys to store hand held electronics.

The purpose of your branded bag is to make your business well known. This doesn’t mean that you should plaster every inch of the bag with a company name, logo, or phrase. You should ask yourself what kind of bag you would use, and just how much advertising you could handle before it was too much. Usually a simple logo and business name is enough.

The presentation is everything for a business. Sometimes not charging anything at all for the branded backpack can earn more of a return than selling them. It’s also a way to quickly get rid of your inventory and in the hands of potential customers. The only drawback is that you will have the highest net loss possible. You may instead offer them at extremely low prices, or intend to sell them at normal price over a long period of time.

Final Thoughts

The amount of retailers that now support customized backpacks is immense. You will have no problems in finding a manufacturer that can appease your needs. Research and size up the retailers to see who will bend their back for your business and give a great price.

Backpacks today are available in different types and sizes. The designs are tailored to meet various needs of users. However, it is no easy task to pick a backpack with hamornious combination of meeting your needs and your taste. Frog backpack might be a good option to consider as they come in different sizes and designs and colors. You can purchase them via internet at a very reasonable price. This article will show you some tips on choosing your backpack.

Light in Weight

Your backpack purchase can be successful if you get the one which is light in weight because the one which is light in weight will be easy to carry and you will be free to stuff it with as much of your belongings as you may need.

Adjustable

Make sure that the backpack you pick is easily adjustable on its handles and straps; this makes your entire trip hassle-free and trouble-free.

Easily adjustable backpacks are easy to use and manage.

Correct Frame Size

Remember every backpack has its own frame size so you are required to pick the correct frame size according to your body and comfort. If the frame size is larger than you can pick, it will result in making you uncomfortable whereas if it is smaller even in that case it will be inconvenient to manage.

Proper Waist Belt Size

Not many people know that it is very important to have a proper waist belt size. This lets you carry your backpack with ease.

Travel the world cheap and fun. It’s all about following a few simple guidelines, being nice and packing light. When you want to see if you’re proficient at this you might try to resort to something extreme like taking only laptop / camera backpacks with you.

The most important rule is to pack light. Of course you won’t manage that the first time you try, this is an art, not an exact science. But you can learn to master it in time. At first you feel the need to be ready for everything, like a wedding, a triathlon, helping a nun with a flat tire and high altitude mountain climbing, but as you go through your first trip and then the second you start realizing that most of the time you only need a change of casual clothes and basic gadgets like a telephone and a digital camera.

Tip #1: basic traveling kit includes: 3 t-shirts, 3 pairs of underwear, 1 pair of shorts/pants, socks (if your shoes require them) personal hygiene kit; telephone; photo camera (optional)

Next thing is to plan exactly where you’re going, and where you can sleep during the night.

Be it a hostel, a friend or a friendly stranger from couchsurfing.org. Generally in Europe you couldn’t get yourself in so much travel that it would look like an episode of Survivor if you didn’t arrive at your planned destination at night, but it could definitely ruin a lot of fun. So allot realistic time frames for each segment of your trip, sure you might get lucky and travel the distance much faster than anticipated, but my advice is to play it safe here. And one other thing you might want to consider when scheduling your trip is that drivers are not as keen on picking up hitchhikers at night.

Tip #2: have the next stopping point confirmed and keep the distances realistic

Most countries have laws against hitchhiking on the highway, but I hope you don’t need to be told not to hitchhike on the highway.

Other places not to hitchhike would be in bus stops or in intersections. And from personal experience at the entry in a city. That was a no-brainer once I realized what I was doing. And of course that leads us to the other side of the road, meaning the exit from a city, which is a great place to make yourself available for a fast, on the road, get to know each other session. And if you feel like cheating you could position yourself in a gas station and talk to people. I’m not sure if that’s technically hitchhiking, but I’ll allow it, because especially for long distances you want a nice driver.

Tip #3: hitchhike at city exits (or in gas stations at city exits)

So far you are able to get from point A to point B, and to make sure that point A and point B are suited to your taste. But let’s see what happens in the car. You are in the car with somebody that has done you a favor by picking you up. The car smells nice, you pay nothing on transportation, there’s AC or heating and a really nice radio station that you don’t understand from time to time because it’s in French.

OK, so maybe now it’s time for you to pay the favor back to the driver. Be interesting! There’s going to be a language barrier sometime, yes, but you have to work through it. Let’s suppose you manage to communicate, which in itself can be made fun for you and the driver. You might consider taking an interest in the other person, in the words of Dale Carnegie “You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

If the journey is long you’ll also learn to moderate a conversation and make sure you both have a good time. Also for some people taking hitchhikers is just as much of an adventure as it is for the hitchhiker, so a few pictures that you could send by email later on could be a nice touch. The list is pretty much endless of the things that you could do, but make sure you make the other person feel good during the ride, because that will make the effort worth it for him/her as well (and there’s even a chance of them making a detour just for you).

One more thing we have to address here is money. If you plan to travel on a budget, especially in Central and Eastern Europe money is no issue, that being said, in Easter Europe the customs are a bit different. Some drivers take hitchhikers for the money, so they might expect a ‘tip’ and in my experiments the breakup wasn’t as warm as the ride, but they didn’t say anything, it was just the attitude that betrayed their expectations. I encourage you not to pay, in any circumstances for hitchhiking, because it’s an art not a trade and if you’re interesting enough you’re even when you get out of the car.

Tip #4: be interesting!

And last but not least you might consider if you travel alone or with a friend. I’m afraid that the industry discriminates against men. Sorry guys, but it’s much harder for two guys to catch a ride than most any other descent combination. Exception being two teenage guys, which will have more than reasonable chances if they look friendly and clean. Two girls, or one guy and one girl will have no problem, again if the friendly and clean conditions are met. So you might take this into account when you plan your trip. That being said, I did once catch a ride for me, another guy and three girls, but that was a lucky shot in lucky circumstances. So you can expect miracles, but you shouldn’t plan a whole trip based on them.

Tip #5: choose wisely whether you travel alone or with somebody else

Alright, here we are, these are the basic ingredients for a successful hitchhiking trip. Make sure you travel light, organized, and that you have a great time along the way. If the trip is long enough, you might even dedicate a blog to it and give the link to the people that pick you up. Enjoy your trip and document it well.

First of all, the type of backpack you are using determines how you will pack. An external frame pack distributes the weight differently than an internal frame pack. Youll want the bulk of the weight low with the external pack, since this helps your balance as youre hiking. With internal frame packs, youll want the heaviest items placed in the middle of your back close to your body. This method of packing keeps the weight close to your center of gravity and allows you to turn around without the backpack pulling you off-balance.

Usually, the two bulkiest items youll pack are a tent and sleeping bag. Sleeping bags designed to be lightweight for backpacking come with a stuff sack with straps to cinch down the size. You can use these straps to tie them to the frame on the external frame pack. For internal frame packs you can pack them in the bottom quite easily. If youre packing for a solo trip the bivy sack (all in one sleeping bag and tent) is very practical. If there are others in your party, its a good idea to distribute the different tent parts (tent body, poles and rain fly) among three people to spread the weight. You can stuff the tent body and rain fly into the top of a pack and tie the poles to the outside of a pack. Another reason to have the tent at the top of your pack is for easy access. Most people set-up their tent when they first get into camp. With the tent on top, youre all set and will not need to unload your pack to get at it. Also, if its raining, youll be able to get out of the rain that much sooner.

Ive found its best to roll your clothes and put the bulkier items (pants, shirts, sweat shirts, jackets) in a stuff sack. Small items like underwear and socks fit into zip lock bags and fit well in the outside pickets. Its always a good idea to have your socks and foot powder accessible when youre hiking. Also, dont forget to have a folding shovel and toilet paper handy. A zip lock bag to store the TP is very important.

Other items to pack are water, raingear, and food. A hydration system is crucial while youre hiking. Most packs have these configured inside the pack, if not; a camelback system will work underneath the backpack. A poncho that fits over your backpack is a good idea to consider. This can be stored in an outside pocket. If you plan on a sit-down lunch during your hike, you can pack this pretty close to the top of your pack. Energy bars work well, too. These take up much less space. Other food items and cooking gear are personal choice depending on how long youll be camping and what you prefer eating.

These are just a few tips to think about when youre packing your backpack. Youll come up with your own list before long and youll have a routine that fits you.

        Population: 70.7 million (UN, 2005)
Capital: Tehran
Area: 1.65 million sq km (636,313 sq miles)
Major language: Persian
Major religion: Islam
Life expectancy: 69 years (men), 72 years (women) (UN)
Monetary unit: 10 Iranian rials = 1 toman
Iran is a massive slab of Middle Eastern territory sandwiched between dangerous frontier of Afghanistan and Pakistan to the East, and Iraq to the East. Iran is a nation that suffers a serious image problem brought about by the tumult of its adjacent countries and bad international press, that is, sadly, at times true. The stigma of its official name Islamic Republic of Iran may effect on an amateur traveller some shuddering. But rest of the world perhaps remains mystified. Ever heard of Persian colours? This is a famous runner for Iran tourism promotions, and by being here in this vibrant nation of gold, red, and blue hues would enlighten the traveller as to why. Surely, anybody has heard of the Persian Gulf, where many battles were waged, or the blockbuster 300, which made waves in Iran more for the politics of the movie than the breakthrough in cinematography that it is. Just don’t cross to Iran via these aforementioned borders, or a mighty danger you’re getting yourself there.
GEOGRAPHY & CLIMATE

Iran is one of those countries one needs to take for what it is, that is the “Land of attractions.” Iran is nothing like a sand dune with uninteresting land features, where political distress and violence are exclusive past times. The vast landscape of the 18th largest country in the world by territory with all sorts of natural scenery, offers warm arid deserts, cool humid forests, even cooler snow-capped rugged mountains, and flower-filled plains, all 1,648,000 km2 of Iranian territory. The Mt. Damavand is the highest point of the country at an altitude of 5671 metres, an ordeal and an excitement to trek. To be found in the Middle East, 35 40 N, 51 25 E, the climate is so diverse in terms of region: the heat and cold extremes of north summer and winters, respectively, and the subtropical climate along the Caspian coast. The high time to enjoy the beauty-laden nation is springtime (or fall) during which weather won’t be a concern, just the visa, which most nationalities can acquire at the airport for a validity of no more than a week.

PEOPLE & CULTURE

Persians (or Iranians) refer to the modern population of Iran, specifically an ethnic group, as one might look back at its ancient name “Persia”. These people are an ancient and mysterious civilization like Egypt and China, and relevant a nation as the super powers United States and Germany, to which it was linked to for Hitler’s third Reich ideology and perverse use of “Aryan supremacy”. In truth, the Iranians are an especially sophisticated and intelligent people, who are taking baby steps toward riding with the world. A current issue however is how much of their traditions they are willing to give up to catch pace with the outside world, but with a literacy of around 80% of the population, we know they are well on their way to opening up. Persians are the dominant ethno-linguistic group that signifies more than 50% of the 70 million people, of which around 80% is the PERSIAN-speaker (also FARSI) demographic-one language out of more than 70 others. ENGLISH is a language of priority to business matters, particularly, and knowing how to speak English is synonymous to “literacy”. Also, children, as young as 7, learn the language, as English is, after all, the global language.

FOOD & ATTRACTION
Iran will capture the traveller’s heart and awaken an underlying sense of adventure, for it is “foreign” in all essence of the word in that it feels like standing in a front of a dimensional door. A feast to the eyes, the colours are popping contrasts everywhere, the red roofs, blue tile interiors, gold columns, rainbow-tainted windows, no less. Persepolis, the centre of the great Persian empire, is one of the, if not the superior highlight of Iran- what a sight! This is the most supreme creation of antiquity that basks ravishingly not only in beauty, but in significance. One cannot encompass the sophistication, intelligence, and creativity of the Persians without being here. The past and the future- these are Iran’s wealth. Modern entertainment possibilities, like the historical edifices, are countless from skiing, to surfing or diving, boat-riding, trekking, dining or simply observing the exquisite people in their wonderful villas of this great nation. Whatever your taste or choice, you will absolutely find rewarding.
Persian cuisine, to the unfamiliar will realize that the flavors are not as exotic. Persian cuisine is the mother of Turkish and Greek fast food of chelo kebabs or Turkish pizza. They were just slightly out-paced in marketing. Rice is a staple in meals and desserts, like fruits, herbs, meat, cheese, and bread. Fruits in any form, fresh or fluid, are present in meals, at times cooked with meat, sometimes as dessert, or even as a cooling drink like hajiv bastani, carrot juice float garnished with cinnamon. Ice cream is a universal favorite, as it is in these parts. Iranian desserts are also inspired by the West like their use of dollops of whipped cream, food toppings, custard fillings, and cakes. Another class is the traditional desserts like rice cookies and sweet breads. Baagh Lava is delectable! Iranians have obviously great dental and overall health considering their sweet tooth.
